Engagement letter

For accountants, law firms and consultants: the client confirms the service and fees and signs the engagement.

Replace the document you email out and get back printed, signed and scanned: the client says who is engaging you, confirms the service and the fees, and signs on their phone screen or with the mouse.

Each response can be printed or saved as a PDF with the signature, to file with the case. Put the full terms of the engagement in the form description or link to them, and review the data protection information before publishing.

Free. You can change every question.

  • Law firms formalising the engagement before starting work.
  • Accounting firms documenting the services a client has hired.
  • Consultants, architects and other professionals who work on assignment.

The data it asks for

Collect the client's identification, the service and their signature. Put the full terms in the form description or link to them, so it is clear what is being accepted. Each form deletes its responses, and their files, once the retention period you choose has passed (6 months by default). If you need to keep the engagement longer, file the PDF with the case.

Frequently asked questions

Is the signature valid?
It is a simple electronic signature: it records who accepts, when and with which details, and it cannot be denied effect just because it is electronic. It is not a qualified electronic signature; if a specific procedure requires one, a digital certificate is needed.
How do I file the signed engagement?
Open the response in the dashboard and click “Print or save as PDF”: the document includes every answer and the signature.
Can I send the client a copy?
On the Pro and Business plans, respondents can get a copy of their answers by email.
